Continuing a misspent youth, John worked in the entertainments industry in London alongside some of the biggest dance acts of the 1990s. Joining the NHS in 2005, John worked in nursing and clinical roles in critical care, emergency and surgery departments, focusing on the delivery of high quality care standards. Transferring his leadership and management skills, John entered the world of operational management, initially managing multiple Head & Neck specialties. Having become a member of the CMI, John has a strong theoretical understanding and practical interests in innovation, change management and system-wide change projects.

More recently, John has returned to the field of emergency medicine, running an emergency department at an acute NHS provider where he has focused on embedding ambulatory care models.
